Painting Interior/Exterior
Let’s face it. There are two types of people in the world. Those that like to paint and those that would rather watch paint dry. At Waller Remodeling, we love to paint! Whether it’s a room, shutters, kitchen cabinets or whole exteriors, we have it covered. What sets us our painting apart? We listen to you. Whether it’s a paint brand you prefer or you like hand brushed instead of spray, that’s not a problem. Our goal is your happiness, not making you fit into our methods. And unlike companies that just paint, we can handle any wood replacement that needs to be done.
This home in Graystone had many issues with the outside deck. The drainage was too small for the water to drain correctly so it caused the water to sit on top. This caused mold and caused tiles to crack because of all the moisture. It also caused the wood framing for the screened in porch and the sunroom to rot. In order to fix this, we had to remove all the tile, all the bad wood and relay new product under the tile so it wouldn’t shift and crack. We also redid the drainage problem with bigger drains and made the slope correct so all the water drains off the deck. Now we have a nice new deck with new tile, better drainage and new framing for the owners to enjoy,
Carpenter bees can do a number on your exterior wood, if you see any wood like this on your deck or around your house that is an indication you have them. Besides, I am sure you see them flying around while you are trying to enjoy your outdoor area.
Once you get the wood replaced here are some useful tips:
- Use weathered or unfinished hardwoods like oak, which are less appealing to carpenter bees than softwoods like pine and cedar.
- Paint and varnish vulnerable areas like siding, windows and decks to deter the bees from drilling into your home.
